What is DoC?

A Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is a statement signed by the manufacturer before placing a product on the market, declaring that the product complies with all applicable EU regULations and standards.

Which Products Require a “Paper DoC”?

Typical products include:

- Radio Equipment (RED)

- Machinery (MD)

- Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS / Drones)

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

- Gas Appliances (GAR)

- Measuring Instruments (MID)

- Construction Products (CPR)

Core Requirements

1. Language: Must meet the official requirements of the country/region where the product is sold.

2. Format: Certain products (e.g., radio equipment, drones) may use a full or simplified DoC. Simplified versions must include a link to the full DoC.

3. Information Consistency: DoC information must match qualification documents, declarations, labels, or nameplates.

Applicable Regulations by Product Type

- Radio Equipment (RED):Directive 2014/53/EU

- Machinery (MD):Directive 2006/42/EC

- Drones (UAS):Regulation (EU) 2019/945

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):Regulation (EU) 2016/425

- Gas Appliances (GAR):Regulation (EU) 2016/426

- Measuring Instruments (MID):Directive 2014/32/EU

- Construction Products (CPR):Regulation (EU) No 305/2011

> Note:This list shows common regulations and corresponding DoC requirements. Always refer to the latest legislation for specific categories.

Mandatory Rules for Accompanying Paper DoC

Basic Requirements

Products within the scope of the EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and relevant drone regulations must be accompanied by a DoC, which can be either a full version or a simplified version.

1. Language Requirement

DoC must be in the official language(s) of the country/region where the product is sold.

2. Format Requirements

- Full DoC:Refer to the full version template.

- Simplified DoC:If using a simplified version, a URL to the full DoC must be included.

3. Information Consistency

DoC information must match related qualification documents, including:

- Product identification (name/model)

- Manufacturer information

- List of applicable regulations/standards

- Signatory and position

- Place and date of signature

- Traceable information

- If simplified, a link to the full DoC

Pre-submission Checklist:

- Files must be clear and legible

- Signature/stamp must be complete

- Language must be correct

- Consistent with qualification documents and nameplates

Common Non-Compliance & Compliance Tips

1. Language mismatch– Ensure document is in required language. Simplified DoC must link to a full version in the same language.

2. Missing or invalid link in simplified DoC– Include accessible URL to full DoC and verify regularly.

3. Manufacturer name/address missing or inconsistent– Ensure consistency with declaration, nameplate, and qualification documents.

4. Product name/model inconsistent– Keep naming uniform; update nameplate and qualification documents if needed.

5. Incorrect listing of regulations/standards– List only applicable and current regulations.

6. Incomplete signatory information– Include signatory’s name, position, date, and place.
