Update time : 2024-07-22

A few days ago, we shared information about Uzbekistan's requirement for certain household appliances to have a local representative for import. Now, some have inquired about the country's energy efficiency requirements. Here is a summary:

Overview of Energy Efficiency Requirements

According to Uzbekistan's "Mandatory Energy Labeling and Certification of Household Appliances" Resolution No. 86 (2015), since January 2016, the country has introduced technical documents for energy efficiency labels for designated household appliances. Energy efficiency is classified into grades "A", "B", "C", "D", "E", "F", and "G" (A being the highest efficiency). Products rated as "G", "F", or "E" were gradually prohibited from free circulation in the market from 2017 to 2019.

List of Products with Mandatory Energy Efficiency Requirements

The following is the initial list of products with mandatory energy efficiency requirements:

1. Air Conditioners

2. Refrigerators, Freezers

3. Washing Machines

4. Dishwashers

5. Ovens (requirements only for built-in types), Electric Stoves, Electric Cooktops, Electric Cooking Boilers

6. Incandescent Electric Lamps or Discharge Lamps

7. Video Monitors, Television Receivers

8. Electric Water Heaters

9. Electric Equipment for Space and Soil Heating

10. Microwave Ovens

Updated Energy Efficiency Requirements

According to Presidential Decree No. PP-436, Uzbekistan further raised the energy efficiency requirements for imported household appliances in 2022 and made new regulations for energy efficiency grades of household appliances:

From December 3, 2022, household appliances with an energy efficiency grade of B or lower are prohibited from being imported into Uzbekistan. This means only products with an energy efficiency grade of A or higher are allowed to enter the market.

Updated List of Products with Mandatory Energy Efficiency Requirements

1. Air Conditioners

2. Refrigerators

3. Dishwashers

4. Washing and Laundry Machines

5. Vacuum Cleaners

6. Electric Water Heaters

7. Electric Space Heating and Ground Heating

8. Microwave Ovens

9. Electric Stoves and Hobs

10. Hoods or Fume Cupboards, including Range Hoods

11. Electromechanical Household Machines with Built-in Electric Motor

12. Monitors and TV-Sets

13. Incandescent Lamps

14. Lamp and Lighting Equipment

15. LEDs

This policy aims to promote the use of high-efficiency products in the Uzbekistan market and prohibit low-efficiency products from circulating in the market. It reflects the emphasis on energy efficiency and is part of the country's transition to a green economy.
