According to the Supreme Decree No. 001-2006-MTCissued by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Peru (MTC), along with its related regULations and subsequent amendments, all telecommunication and radio equipment(such as mobile phones, modems, Wi-Fi devices, etc.) must obtain MTC Type Approval (Homologation/Type Approval)before entering the Peruvian market.
This certification is reviewed and granted by the MTC, ensuring that telecommunication and wireless devices comply with national technical standards and regulatory requirements. The purpose is to guarantee user safety, ensure efficient use of the radio spectrum, and maintain an orderly and regulated communications market environment.
Additionally, according to the same regulations, devices using the radio spectrum with antenna transmission power (Effective Radiated Power, ERP) less than or equal to 10 milliwatts, provided that they do not operate in frequency bands allocated to public services and comply with current regulations, are exempt from type approval.
The qualification document must be a certification certificate issued by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Peru (MTC). Its contents generally include, but are not limited to, the following information:

- Subtitle:CERTIFICADO DE HOMOLOGACIÓN
- Certificate Number:Nº Certificado

- Equipment and Technical Data:such as Function (Función), Brand (Marca), Model (Modelo), Technical Specifications, etc.
- The product information on the certificate must matchthe certification details found on the official website.
