Exporting trampolines to the United States requires compliance with mULtiple testing and certification requirements, primarily related to the ASTM F381-16 safety standard and CPC (Children’s Product Certificate) certification. Compliance with the regulations set by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is also mandatory. ASTM F381-16 is a standard developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) for home trampolines. This standard mainly covers design, performance, and safety requirements for trampolines.

Amazon requires all trampolines listed for sale to undergo testing. They must comply with the following specific regulations and standards:

All of the following:

1. ASTM F381-16 – Standard Safety Specification for Components, Assembly, Use, and Labeling of Consumer Trampolines;

2. ASTM F2225-15(2020) – Standard Safety Specification for Consumer Trampoline Enclosures (where applicable).

Key Specifications of ASTM F381-16 for Trampolines:

1. Minimum bed size of 3,300 in² (21,300 cm²);

2. Minimum height of 20 inches (51 cm);

3. Designed for continuous vertical jumping activities;

4. Intended for consumer use.

Trampolines are used for jumping and play, consisting of a frame, jumping bed, suspension system, and frame pads. The ASTM F381-16 standard does not apply to institutional or commercial trampolines, nor does it apply to fitness trampolines or trampolines intended for children under six years old.

The ASTM F381 standard includes strict requirements for the materials and structure of trampolines. For example, it stipulates that the structure must be stable to ensure no tipping or disassembly during use. In addition, the surface coating must be environmentally friendly and non-toxic, posing no health risks to users.

Beyond structural and manufacturing requirements, ASTM F381 also specifies testing and inspection methods. Trampolines must undergo a series of tests, including but not limited to impact tests, fatigue tests, and durability tests. These tests ensure the trampoline maintains structural and functional stability during use.

Certification Process for ASTM F381-16:

1. Contact a qualified laboratory (ISO 17025 accREDited lab);

2. Complete the testing and certification application form;

3. Send product samples;

4. JJR Lab in China conducts testing on the samples;

5. Obtain the ASTM F381-16 certification report for the trampoline;

6. Upload the certification report.

The testing period for the ASTM F381-16 certificate is typically 5–7 working days, and the cost varies depending on the specific product.
