On June 30, 2026, Amazon US will strictly enforce the DV compliance audit for lithium battery-powered small home appliance humidifiers, canceling the seller's self-upload audit channel. All product safety reports and battery transportation reports must be verified and approved by an Amazon-recognized official TIC third-party institution, and then uniformly submitted to the platform for filing by the institution. Products that fail to complete the qualifications and audits in accordance with regulatory requirements will be directly delisted.
Amazon US requires that the safety standard for humidifiers must pass the strict UL998 certification before the products can compliantly enter the US market and be sold freely.
The UL998 standard mainly applies to various types of humidifiers for household and similar purposes, including common types such as ultrasonic humidifiers, evaporative humidifiers, and warm mist humidifiers. As long as a humidifier is intended for sale in the US market—whether it is a large-capacity humidifier for adult use or a small, silent humidifier specifically designed for a baby's room—it must undergo the strict testing of the UL998 standard. However, special products such as large industrial-use humidifiers are not subject to this standard.
1. Electrical Safety (Protection against electric shock, the primary audit item)
Input power test
Leakage current test
Dielectric voltage-withstand test
Grounding protection test
Insulation performance test
2. Thermal Safety + Abnormal Fault Testing
Normal temperature rise test
Dry-burn abnormality test without water (Key item)
Material flame-retardant requirements
3. Humidifier-Exclusive Waterproofing / Water Overflow Structure Testing (Unique to water-related home appliances)
Water overflow spray test
15° tilt stability test
Water tank sealing test
Water circuit anti-backflow test
Whole-Machine Home Appliance Safety Standard: Humidifier ul499 testing, requiring a whole-machine safety test report issued by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory authorized by CNAS, valid within the past 12 months.
Lithium Battery Related Standards (Must choose one + transportation requirements):
Transportation Safety: un 38.3 test report + BTS (Battery Test Summary).
Actual Product Photos: Real photos of the product's appearance and specification label (must include model, voltage, battery parameters, and safety warnings).
Product Manual: English product manual (must include the safety warning page).

Issue the formal report
The report model is inconsistent with the listed ASIN or the physical product.
Missing battery UL safety certification; having only a UN 38.3 report is invalid.
The UN 38.3 report is not accompanied by the BTS test summary document.
The product label is missing voltage, battery parameters, or safety warning information.
The report exceeds the 12-month validity period, or was not issued by a laboratory with CNAS authorization standards.
Failure to provide a compliance declaration for low battery shipment.
Warm Reminder:
Amazon's compliance requirements are becoming increasingly strict. It is recommended that sellers with existing ASINs for older products prioritize and expedite the completion of the audit to avoid centralized batch delisting by the platform. For new products, it is advised to complete the full set of lithium battery compliance + DV filing in advance before listing to ensure a seamless, one-click direct listing.
