The National Telecommunications Agency of Brazil (Anatel) and the Federal Revenue Service jointly launched the "Legal Product Operation" from November 30 to December 1. Surprise inspections were conducted on the distribution centers of major e-commerce platforms including Shopee, Amazon, and Mercado Livre, located in Araucária (Paraná State), Brasília (Federal District), and Franco da Rocha (São PaULo State).

A total of 20,591 certified products were inspected during this operation, and 4,226 non-compliant products were seized. The seized products include battery chargers, wireless cameras, network equipment, transceivers, power banks, TV boxes, and smart watches, among others. Among them, Mercado Livre had the largest number of non-compliant products detected and banned from sale, REACHing 2,569 units; followed by Shopee with 1,325 units; and Amazon with 332 units.
To ensure the safety and quality of products circulating in the market, Anatel mandates compulsory certification for power banks and mobile phone batteries. Products without certification or bearing counterfeit certification marks are prohibited from being sold within the territory of Brazil.
