Carbon Monoxide Alarm Amazon Canada (CAN/CSA-6.19) and US (UL 2034) Test Report

 

Before carbon monoxide (CO) levels reach dangerous thresholds, a carbon monoxide alarm will emit an audible warning. These alarms are designed to detect CO from sources such as internal combustion engines, fuel-burning appliances, and fireplace exhaust systems, among others.

Our Fire Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Policy

Canada Requirements:

Amazon requires that all fire smoke and carbon monoxide alarms be tested and comply with the following regulations, standards, and requirements:

 

- Smoke Alarm: CAN/ULC-S531 (Smoke Alarm Standard)

- Smoke Detector: CAN/ULC-S529 (Fire Alarm System Smoke Detector Standard)

- Carbon Monoxide Alarm: CAN/CSA-6.19 (Single and Multiple Station Carbon Monoxide Alarm Standard)

- Household Natural Gas Detector: CAN/ULC-S588 (Household Natural Gas Detector Standard)

- Heat Fire Detector: CAN/ULC-S530 (Single and Multiple Station Heat Alarm Standard)

 

Additionally, all fire safety and other safety-related products must include bilingual (English and French) safety warnings and instructions.

 

US Requirements:

Amazon requires that all fire smoke and carbon monoxide alarms be tested and comply with the following regulations, standards, and requirements:

 

- Smoke Alarm: ul 217 (Smoke Alarm Standard)

- Smoke Detector: UL 268 (Fire Alarm Signaling System Smoke Detector Standard)

- Carbon Monoxide Alarm: UL 2034 (Single and Multiple Station Carbon Monoxide Alarm Standard)

- Household Natural Gas Detector: UL 1484 (Household Natural Gas Detector Standard)

- Heat Fire Detector: ULC-539 (Single and Multiple Station Heat Alarm Standard)

 

Product Detail Page Requirements

Your product detail page must include the following information:

- Model, part number, or product number

- Manufacturer or brand name

 

The above information must match the test report to verify that the tested product is the same as the one listed on the product detail page.

 

Required Documents

You must submit the following documents:

1. A test report issued by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory, proving compliance with the aforementioned regulations, standards, and requirements.

2. A valid ISO 17025 accreditation certificate issued to the testing laboratory by an ILAC-MRA signatory (if the product has been tested in a non-nationally recognized laboratory for fire, smoke, carbon monoxide alarms, and detectors).
