USA federal law mandates that every children's product must be tested by a CPSC-accepted third-party laboratory to ensure compliance with applicable federal children's product safety requirements.

CPSC has accepted more than 600 laboratories worldwide to conduct testing for various children's product requirements. Specific testing requirements vary by product or product category, target age group, consumer usage patterns, and product material composition.

On the CPSC website, each testing laboratory lists the test method names for which it is accepted by CPSC.

On January 15, 2026, CPSC revoked the accreditation of some third-party laboratories based on findings from 2025.

Manufacturers and retailers are advised that CPSC no longer accepts certifications from revoked laboratories.

Companies relying on reports from these laboratories must obtain new testing and certification from properly accredited laboratories before importing or selling regulated products into the United States.

The CPSC Chairman stated that this will also result in stricter scrutiny, verification, and enforcement of high-risk foreign laboratories to protect the safety and health of the American public.

Step 2: Enter Information for Precise Search

The system supports multiple search methods. You may search using any one of the following:

• Laboratory English name (e.g., EQO)

• CPSC Laboratory ID number (e.g., 1614)

• Country/Region (optional; e.g., select “China” for quick filtering)

• Testing Standard (optional; e.g., enter “ASTM F963” or “16 CFR Part 1510” to find qualified laboratories)

Click “Submit” to display all matching laboratories.

Step 3: Verify 3 Key Critical Details

After locating your target laboratory, do not close the page before confirming these three items:

1. Status: Must show “Accepted” (currently approved by CPSC).

2. Accreditation Body: Must be an ILAC-MRA signatory organization (e.g., CNAS).

3. Standards Covered: Confirm the laboratory’s accredited testing standards include your product’s required items (e.g., ASTM F963-23).
