According to relevant EU regULations, sellers must ensure that C-type plug (Europlug) products meet safety requirements. The C-type plug is designed without grounding, featuring two cylindrical pins with a typical spacing of 19mm, and is widely used in most EU countries. These plugs are generally suitable only for appliances with a rated current not exceeding 2.5 A.
The EN 50075 standard applies to flat, non-rewireable, two-pole, non-grounded plugs rated at 250V AC and 2.5A. These plugs are equipped with a power cord and designed to connect to Class II household and similar devices, without special waterproof or dustproof protection, and are limited to indoor use. Plugs in adapters or devices (e.g., shavers or lamps with rechargeable batteries, plug-in transformers, etc.) should comply with this standard within reasonable applicable limits.
The qualification document should be a complete test report, proving that the product has passed the relevant regulatory testing items. The content should include, but is not limited to:
- Basic information of the product;
- Basic information of the manufacturer;
- Applicable testing standard (EN 50075);
- Complete list of test items and corresponding results;
- Photos of the tested sample;
- Signature/stamp of the testing laboratory and other mandatory report information.
Note:When evaluating the product itself along with the plug as a whole, the test report must explicitly state that the plug portion of the product has been tested according to EN 50075, and that all test results have passed.
