On February 6, 2023 (U.S. local time), the FCC officially released document FCC 22-84, which came into effect immediately upon publication. This document primarily strengthens device authorization to prevent security threats to the United States and restricts devices and content listed on the CoveRED List. According to Section 2.911(d)(7) of KDB 986446, applicants must designate a contact located in the United States to act as the applicant’s agent, regardless of whether the applicant is a domestic or foreign entity. Applicants located in the U.S. may designate themselves as the agent for service of legal documents.

2. The second statement is the designation of a U.S. agent for service of process. According to KDB and Section 2.911(d)(7), the applicant must designate a contact located in the United States to act as the agent for service of legal documents, regardless of whether the applicant is a domestic or foreign entity.
