RoHS Compliance Authority

The fULl name of the EU RoHS Directive is “Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment”. It is a mandatory standard established by EU legislation, aimed at restricting the use of specific hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

The directive was issued in 2002 and originally applied to most electrical and electronic devices. According to the RoHS Directive, all electrical and electronic products sold in the EU market must comply with the restrictions and standards on these substances. This applies to all types of equipment, from small household appliances to large industrial machines and electronic devices.

The implementation of the RoHS Directive has had a significant impact on enterprises and manufacturers, requiring more material testing and supply chain management to ensure compliance. At the same time, RoHS encourages green design and sustainable development, promoting environmental protection and safeguarding human health.

Scope of Applicable Products

- Testing items: Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent Chromium [Cr(VI)], Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs), Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs), BIS(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), Dibutyl phthalate (DBP), Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP)

- Testing standard: IEC62321

- Sample requirement:

- Materials: 30g

- Liquids: 100ml

- Complete device: 1 set + dismantled parts

- Testing period: varies by product; regular period is 5–7 working days
