How to Get an ROHS Test Report?

RoHS is a mandatory standard established by EU legislation, formally known as the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive. It regULates materials and manufacturing processes for electronic and electrical products to promote health and environmental protection.

 

Applicable Regions for ROHS Test Reports

The ROHS directive applies to the following regions:

EU Member States (27 countries): France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Ireland, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Cyprus, Hungary, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, and the United Kingdom (which exited the EU in 2016).

ROHS directives cover a wide range of products, including nearly all electronic and electrical products and their raw materials:

3. IT and telecommunications equipment

4. Consumer equipment

5. Lighting equipment

6. Electrical and electronic tools

7. Toys, leisure, and sports equipment

8. Medical devices

9. Monitoring and control instruments (including industrial ones)

10. Automatic dispensers

11. Other categories not listed above

ROHS 2.0 (2011/65/EU)

 

ROHS Testing Parameters and Limits

- Cadmium (Cd): Limit 100 mg/kg, 0.01%

- Mercury (Hg): Limit 1000 mg/kg, 0.1%

- Lead (Pb): Limit 1000 mg/kg, 0.1%

- Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+): Limit 1000 mg/kg, 0.1%

- Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs): Limit 1000 mg/kg, 0.1%

- Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs): Limit 1000 mg/kg, 0.1%

- Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): Limit 1000 mg/kg, 0.1%

- Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP): Limit 1000 mg/kg, 0.1%

- Dibutyl phthalate (DBP): Limit 1000 mg/kg, 0.1%

- Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP): Limit 1000 mg/kg, 0.1%

Process for Obtaining a ROHS Test Report

1. Complete the service application form.

2. Sign the contract and make payment.

3. Send product samples.

4. Conduct testing on the samples.

5. Issue the test report.

 

Timeline and Validity of ROHS Test Reports

For common products, ROHS certification usually takes 5–7 days after receiving the required samples and documents. There is no specific validity period; the report needs to be updated in line with directive updates.
