The EU RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU), known as "The Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment," restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products. The directive covers a wide range of products, including electronics, electrical appliances, medical devices, communication equipment, toys, security information products, and more. It applies not only to finished products but also to components, raw materials, and packaging, affecting the entire production chain.

- Large household appliances
- Small household appliances
- IT and telecommunication equipment
- Consumer electronics
- Lighting equipment
- Electrical and electronic tools
- Toys, leisure, and sports equipment
- Vending machines
- Medical devices
- Monitoring and control equipment
- Other electrical and electronic equipment
Electronic and electrical equipment must not contain the following hazardous substances beyond the specified limits:
- Cadmium (Cd), CAS No. 7439-97-6, limit: 100 mg/kg
- Lead (Pb), CAS No. 7439-92-1, limit: 1000 mg/kg
- Mercury (Hg), CAS No. 7440-43-9, limit: 1000 mg/kg
- Hexavalent Chromium (Cr⁶⁺), CAS No. 7440-47-3, limit: 1000 mg/kg
- Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs), mixture, limit: 1000 mg/kg

- Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP), CAS No. 84-69-5, limit: 1000 mg/kg
1. Sample Submission or On-Site Sampling
- Send the relevant product to an HQTS laboratory for testing.
2. Sample Analysis
- The product is broken down into homogeneous materials for testing.
- Analyzes whether substances such as lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBBs, and PBDEs comply with RoHS directive requirements.
- Engineers compile a detailed test report.
3. Report Issuance
- If the product complies, a RoHS Compliance report and certificate are issued.
- If non-compliant, the manufacturer must replace non-conforming components with compliant alternatives.
