Thailand NBTC New Requirements

Change RequiRED for WWAN Product Test Reports

 

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand has announced that, starting from JULy 7, 2025, all products supporting LTE 4G bands (32, 75, 76)and 5G NR bands (n32, n75, n76)must submit RF test reportsto obtain NBTC Class B certification.

Requirements

1. New Applications:

Applicants must submit RF test reports covering the newly added frequency bands.

 

2. Pending Applications (not yet certified):

Applicants must provide additional test reports for the newly added bands.

 

3. Previously Certified Products:

No action is required. Existing certificates remain valid.

 

Accepted RF Test Standards for New Bands

- 4G Bands 32, 75, 76:ETSI TS 136101 or TS 36.521-1

- 5G NR Bands n32, n75, n76:ETSI TS 138101-1 V18.9.0 or later versions

 

Change Information

Before the Change:

- LTE Bands: B1, B3, B5, B8, B40, B41

- 5G NR Bands: n1, n3, n5, n8, n28, n40, n41, n258

 

After the Change:

- Added LTE Bands: B32, B75, B76

- Added 5G NR Bands: n32, n75, n76

- Other existing band requirements remain unchanged.

 

Test Report Requirements:

- Previously: Submission followed existing requirements.

- Now:

1. New applications must include RF test reports for the newly added bands.

2. Applications under review must supplement RF test reports for the new bands.

3. Certified products require no action; certificates remain valid.

 

Test Standards:

- Previously: Followed existing standards.

- Now:

- 4G (LTE) Bands 32, 75, 76: ETSI TS 136101 or TS 36.521-1

- 5G NR Bands n32, n75, n76: ETSI TS 138101-1 V18.9.0 or newer

 

Recommendations for Enterprises

To ensure smooth product certification, companies are advised to follow these steps:

 

1. Product Planning:

During the design and development stage, if the product is intended to support the newly added frequency bands, plan ahead and allocate necessary resources for compliance testing.

 

2. Certification Application:

- For New Projects:Ensure all submitted test reports comprehensively cover all supported new frequency bands.

- For Ongoing Applications:Proactively contact JJR Testing Laboratoryto arrange and supplement the required RF test reports in accordance with the new NBTC requirements.
