TISI is the abbreviation of Thailand Industrial Standards Institute under the Ministry of Industry, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Industry of Thailand. It is responsible for standardization, product certification, accREDitation of certification bodies, and consumer rights protection in Thailand. All products exported to Thailand must comply with TIS certification standards.
TISI certification is a product certification system based on Thailand Industrial Standards (TIS), generally adopting the Type 5 certification model, which consists of factory inspection, type testing, and post-certification supervision. The specific certification steps are as follows:
Note: Certification applications must be submitted by Thai importers or their authorized representatives.
① Certification Acceptance
② Product Testing
③ Factory Quality Inspection
④ Factory Registration
⑤ Issuance of TISI Certificate
If a factory passes the factory inspection for a specific product standard, it can be registered in the list of registered factories for that product standard. When expanding the product scope later, there is no need to conduct repeated factory inspections.
The validity period of TISI factory registration is three years. This means that after a factory obtains initial registration for a standard, it must undergo a new factory inspection after three years to maintain the validity of the certificate.
