Toy Product Regulations for Australia/New Zealand

The requirements for toys in Australia & New Zealand are mainly reflected in the AS/NZS ISO 8124 series standards. For electric toys, they shall also comply with the relevant safety requirements of AS/NZS 62115. In addition, Australia has issued a series of mandatory standards and ban notices in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law and the Trade Practices Act, which also include relevant safety requirements for toys.

Safety of Electric Toys

This standard specifies the requirements for electric toys in terms of marking and instructions, input power, heating and abnormal operation, electrical insulation strength at operating temperature, resistance to humidity, electrical strength at room temperature, mechanical strength, construction, protection of cords and wires, components, screws and connections, electrical clearance and creepage distance, heat resistance and flame resistance, radiation, toxicity and similar hazards.
