Amazon Toys TIC DV Validation

Recently, there has been an important update regarding Amazon's TIC Direct Validation (DV). Amazon has added multiple toy DV categories. Specifically, for Laser Products, Children's jewelry, and Children's sand products, an annual Direct Validation must be conducted through an Amazon-recognized Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) organization.

Amazon will gradually trigger notifications in Seller Central to inform affected sellers. Failure to complete the validation on time may result in product removal, affecting normal sales. This means that sellers in these categories cannot upload compliance reports to Amazon on their own; sellers must choose a professional, efficient, and Amazon-recognized TIC organization to conduct the direct validation audit!

What is TIC Direct Validation?

To ensure product safety and compliance, Amazon introduced the "Direct Validation" mechanism:

✦ Products in designated categories must pass a direct validation audit by an Amazon-recognized TIC organization.

✦ Testing and validation results are submitted directly to Amazon by the TIC organization.

✦ Sellers cannot upload compliance documents on their own.

Newly Added Toy Categories and Scopes Requiring DV Direct Validation

✦ Laser Products (United States, Canada)

✦ Children's jewelry (United States, Canada)

✦ Children's sand products (United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium)

TIC Direct Validation Compliance Process:

✦ Step 1: The seller selects a TIC in Seller Central by navigating to: Performance > Account Health > Policy Compliance > Food and Product Safety Issues > Next Steps > Select the corresponding ASIN to submit > Verify your product.

✦ Step 2: After selecting the TIC, the seller will receive a system-generated TRF ID number, which must be submitted to the TIC organization.

✦ Step 3: Upon receiving the request, the designated TIC organization will contact the seller to arrange new testing or validate their existing test reports.

✦ Step 4: Once the testing/validation is complete, the TIC will submit the results directly to Amazon (sellers cannot upload the files themselves).

✦ Step 5: After the TIC submits the results to Amazon, the seller can view the corresponding report in Seller Central.

Impact on Sellers:

✦ If the TIC audit is passed and complies with Amazon's policies, the product will remain eligible for sale on the Amazon platform, requiring no further action.

✦ If the seller fails to initiate or complete the testing or validation, or if the test results indicate that the product does not comply with Amazon's compliance policies, the product listing may be removed by Amazon, and the product may be taken down.
