Australia RCM-Level 1 Certificate

RCM certification can only be applied for by a local Australian company. The company must obtain an RCM number from the Australian government.

Manufacturers and exporters can apply for IEC or AS/NZS reports in their own name, but these reports must be submitted by the Australian importer to apply for RCM.

The registration fee is AUD 75 per product per trademark per year.

Product Risk Classification

Level 1 – Low Risk

- Applies to products with input ranges of AC 50V–1000V and DC 50V–1500V.

- Must provide a C-Tick reportandan IEC safety reportor AS/NZS safety reportfor registration.

- Note: EN standard reports are no longer accepted for RCM-Level 1 registration.

 

Level 2 – Medium Risk

- Generally refers to AC-poweRED products.

- Requires submission of an emc report + Safety reportto apply for RCM certification

(i.e., C-Tick + Safety test report).

 

Level 3 – High Risk

- Covers a specified list of 56 products, such as power adapters, vacuum cleaners, etc.

- Certification requirements depend on the specific product.

- Requires EMC report + Safety report + saa certificateto apply for RCM certification / EESS registration.

 

General Notes

- Any electrical product within the voltage range of AC 50V–1000Vor DC 120V–1500Voften falls under Level 3.

- Such products typically require saa certificationin addition to RCM registration.
