Amazon Baby Feeding Products

For sellers of baby products on the Amazon platform, child safety is an inviolable RED line, and relevant compliance policies are the top priority of platform supervision. Recently, Amazon has issued clear compliance requirements for baby feeding products, covering core dimensions such as prohibited sales scope, testing standards, and document submission, which are directly related to whether the goods can be normally listed and sold.

Which Products Fall Under the Scope of Policy Control?

① Pacifiers: Made primarily of food-grade silicone or latex, BPA-free, with a bionic design that replicates the texture and shape of breast milk. Compatible with feeding bottles, designed with different flow rates in stages, and equipped with air vents to prevent colic and milk choking. Suitable for infants and young children for sucking, feeding, or soothing emotions.

② Feeding Bottles: Commonly made of high borosilicate glass, PPSU, PP, and other materials, which are safe, high-temperature resistant, and support repeated sterilization. Most feature a wide-caliber or handle design for easy formULa filling and cleaning, with clear scale marks on the bottle body for precise milk volume control. Some are equipped with anti-colic channels, serving as core utensils for feeding infants and young children with milk.

③ Drinking Utensils: Including sippy cups, straw cups, etc., featuring spill-proof design with soft spouts or adjustable straws. Equipped with non-slip handles that fit infants' gripping habits, helping babies transition smoothly from bottle feeding to independent drinking. Suitable for daily hydration of babies aged 6 months and above.

④ Feeding Tableware: Covering complementary food bowls, divided plates, silicone soft spoons, etc., made of food-grade safe materials. Most are designed with non-slip suction cups, smooth edges, and high-temperature resistance, suitable for complementary food feeding and babies' independent eating needs, easy to clean, and can reduce accidents during feeding.

Compliance Requirements for Baby Feeding Products

Baby feeding products (e.g., feeding bottles, sippy cups) must meet strict compliance requirements; products that fail to meet the standards will not pass platform review. Specific requirements are as follows:

① EN 14350:2020+A1:2023 (Child Use and Care Articles - Drinking Utensils - Safety Requirements and Test Methods)

② Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 (on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food)

Main Test Items

1. Physical Testing (Mechanical Properties)

① Appearance and Structure Inspection: Visual and tactile inspection, small parts, protrusions, finger traps, cords and loops.

② Mechanical Strength Testing: Tear resistance, handle and clip load-bearing capacity, sealing flap strength.

③ Functional Performance: Container volume accuracy, drinking accessory connection strength, leak-proof testing.

④ Environmental Adaptability: Boiling water resistance, thermal shock resistance, drop resistance.

2. CheMICal Testing (Material Safety)

① Migration Testing: Specific element migration (aluminum, antimony, arsenic, barium, cadmium, etc.), formaldehyde release, primary aromatic amine migration.

② Harmful Substances: Volatile compound content, 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT) release, antioxidant release.

③ Color Fastness: Chemical stability of decorations, inscriptions, and decals to prevent pigment migration into the mouth.

3. reliability testing (Comprehensive Performance)

① Durability Testing: Performance retention after simulating daily use.

② Ease of Use: Handle design, grip comfort, convenience of opening/closing operations.

③ Cleaning and Maintenance: Easy-to-clean structure, detachable component design, sterilization compatibility.
