Guidance for Uploading Canada Radio ISED Qualifications

Innovation, Science and EconoMIC Development Canada (ised) implements mandatory certification or registration for Category I radio equipment, broadcasting equipment and terminal equipment. This is to ensure that the above equipment complies with Radio Standards Specifications (RSS), Broadcasting Equipment Technical Standards (BETS) or Terminal Equipment Compliance Specifications (CS-03), so as to ensure the rational use of radio spectrum resources, maintain the stability of communication networks and protect consumer safety.

In accordance with Canadian regULatory requirements, all Category I radio equipment, broadcasting equipment and terminal equipment must undergo ised certification or registration and obtain an ISED certification or registration number. Certified products shall meet the requirements of relevant regulations and technical standards, and display the ISED certification or registration number on the label for consumer verification.

 

Merchants selling Category I radio equipment, broadcasting equipment and terminal equipment in Canada shall submit documentary evidence to the platform proving that the products comply with relevant regulatory and technical standard requirements. The submission shall include actual product photos, qualification certificates and corresponding test reports/technical documents, and truthfully and accurately fill in the following key product information:

• Product Marketing Name (PMN)

• ISED Certification/Registration Number (IC Number)

• Hardware Version Identification Number (HVIN)

• Firmware Version Identification Number (FVIN) (if applicable)

Please note: The Product Marketing Name (PMN), ISED Certification/Registration Number (IC Number) and Hardware Version Identification Number (HVIN) apply to different product types, so such information is not mandatory. If you choose to fill it in, you agree and confirm that such information will be displayed on the product detail page.


Requirements for Actual Product Photos

• Upload at least complete actual photos of the main product (e.g., six-sided views of the product). Photos shall be taken in a real environment, clear and complete, unprocessed by any photo editing software, and free of jagged distortion at the edges.

• Photos shall clearly show all label information displayed on the product in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., PMN, IC Number, HVIN, FVIN (if applicable), etc.). The label information shall be permanently affixed to the product body, clear, legible and indelible. Printing on white paper and pasting with transparent tape, or repeated pasting is prohibited.

• The product in the actual photos shall be consistent with the actual product for sale (the product in the SKU images), including but not limited to the product structure and design appearance, and shall not contradict the information described on the product detail page.

Requirements for Qualification Documents and Information Filling

For the sale of all Category I radio equipment, broadcasting equipment and terminal equipment in Canada, qualification certificates and corresponding test reports/technical documents must be submitted, and key product information must be filled in truthfully and accurately. Relevant requirements are as follows:

(I) Requirements for Qualification Certificates

Qualification certificates shall prove that the product complies with relevant regulatory and technical standard requirements, and the information on the certificate shall be verifiable in Canadian official databases. Merchants shall ensure that the certificate information is consistent with the query results on Canadian official websites. Qualification certificates shall display at least the following contents:

• Product Marketing Name (PMN)

• Host Marketing Name (HMN) (if applicable)

• Hardware Version Identification Number (HVIN) (if applicable)

• ISED Certification Number (IC Number) (for Category I radio equipment and broadcasting equipment)

• ISED Registration Number (IC Number) (for terminal equipment), etc.

Notes: Please ensure that the products for sale have completed valid certification and/or registration. If the certification or registration status changes (e.g., relevant information cannot be found on the official website, or the certification or registration is revoked or expiRED), merchants shall update the qualification documents in a timely manner.

(II) Requirements for Test Reports/Technical Documents

Test reports/technical documents shall contain complete information and prove that the product has passed all applicable test items required by relevant regulations, including but not limited to the following contents:

• Basic product information;

• Basic information of the manufacturer/applicant;

• Test standards;

• Specific test items and results;

• Test sample photos (mandatory);

• Signature/seal of the testing laboratory and other mandatory contents of test reports.

(III) Instructions for Filling in Basic ISED Qualification Information

Accurately fill in the following information according to the actual situation of the product (non-mandatory), and ensure consistency with the contents in the qualification certificates:

• HVIN (Hardware Version Identification Number)

• PMN (Product Marketing Name)

• ISED Certification Number (for Category I radio equipment and broadcasting equipment)

• ISED Registration Number (for terminal equipment)

Inconsistency between the filled information and the information recorded in the submitted qualification certificates may affect the sale of relevant products on Canadian sites.
