How to get a Singapore IMDA Certificate?

What is the Singapore IMDA Certificate?

The IMDA Certificate is issued by the Infocomm Media Development Authority(IMDA) of Singapore. Any wireless or telecommunications product that is sold or used in Singapore must obtain this certification.

 

Types of Applications Based on Registration Scheme and Device Type:

1. Enhanced Simplified Equipment Registration (ESER)

Applicable for: Bluetooth devices, RFID, wireless MICrophones, DVB-T2 set-top boxes, etc.

 

2. Simplified Equipment Registration (SER)

Applicable for: Mobile phones, routers, etc.

 

3. General Equipment Registration (GER)

Applicable for: Base stations, walkie-talkies, etc.

 

4. General Equipment Registration by Certification Body (GER-CB)

 

5. Declaration of Conformity (DoC / COFC)

Voluntary registration, applicable to exempted devices such as fax machines.

 

> Note:Most consumer electronics fall under the ESER and SER schemes.

> Except for the COFC, which is valid permanently, all other types of registrations are valid for 5 years.

 

Key Information about the IMDA Certificate:

1. Nature:Mandatory

2. Lead Time:1–2 weeks

3. Local Representative:RequiRED – must be a Singapore-registered company

4. Application:One IMDA Certificate is valid for only one product model

 

Required Documentation:

1. FULl ce red Test Report

2. English User Manual

3. Product Label (must include brand/trademark)

4. Singapore local representative information

 

(If using our company as the representative, this is not required)

 

Label Requirements:

1. Label Size:17mm x 9mm

2. Dealer’s Licence No.:This is the importer’s code, notthe certificate number

3. Placement Options:The label can be affixed on the product itself, the user manual, or the product packaging
