Important: Latest Notice on SASO IEC 62680

On March 12, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) issued a notice to adjust the enforcement date of SASO IEC 62680-1-2:2023 and SASO IEC 62680-1-3:2023 — the standards for unified charging ports of smartphones and electronic devices.

Originally scheduled for mandatory implementation on January 1, 2026, the effective date is now rescheduled to May 1, 2026.

Starting May 1, 2026:

1. No Certificates of Conformity (COC) will be issued by any authorities for regulated products that do not comply with the SASO IEC 62680 standards.

2. No shipment certificate applications will be approved based on conformity certificates issued before May 1, 2026 that fail to meet the above requirements.
