Malaysia MCMC Wireless Certification

In 1998, Malaysia established a new regulatory licensing framework based on the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. A new regulatory body, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), was also formed. MCMC sets standards for wireless products, certification, testing programs, and import/export management. However, the issuance of certificates is handled by SIRIM QAS, hence the certification is commonly referred to as sirim certification.

Certification Documents Required

1. SIRIM system account of the Malaysian importer, or the Malaysian importer's business license (SSM).

2. Product catalog or color product photos.

3. English product manual.

4. Trademark registration certificate and trademark authorization letter (in a fixed format).

5. RF, EMC, and safety test reports.

6. Internal and external product photos (showing the PCB board).

7. Any additional documents required by SIRIM to verify product functionality.

Label Requirements

The MCMC Label is required for SIRIM CM certification, featuring a triangular mark with the MCMC inscription, and the identification number (Unique ID) of either the manufacturer (CID) or certificate holder (HID) below. The minimum size is 8x8mm. When printed on the product, the label area must cover more than 1% of the product's printed surface.
