According to the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore, the IMDA Certification label is nota traditional graphic logo, but a mandatory text statement that must be clearly displayed on the device or related documentation. The following are the core requirements and operational guidelines:

Label Content Format

- Fixed Wording:Must state

`Complies with IMDA Standards XXXXXXXX`

`XXXXXXXX` refers to the registration code of a local Singapore telecom dealer (not a certificate number), which must be provided by an IMDA-licensed agent.

- Example:If the agent’s code is "123456AB", the complete label is:

`Complies with IMDA Standards 123456AB`.

Label Placement Requirements

The label must be clearly displayed in at least one of the following locations:

1. On the product itself (e.g., casing, bottom).

2. On the product packaging (box or label area).

3. In the user manual (cover page or compliance declaration section).

 

In special cases (e.g., very small devices), an electronic label (on-screen display) may be used instead of a physical label.

 

Size and Style Specifications

- Size:Strictly fixed at 17mm × 9mm (W × H), scaling is not permitted.

- Font & Color:No mandatory requirement, but the text must remain clear and legible (recommended: black text on white background, or white text on black background).

 

Risks of Non-Compliance

- Legal Penalties:Failure to label or incorrect label information may resULt in a fine of up to SGD 10,000 (approx. RMB 49,500) or imprisonment of up to 3 years.

- Market Consequences:Products may be removed from shelves, banned from sale, or detained during IMDA inspections.

1. Obtain Agent Code:Partner with a Singapore-registeRED telecom dealer to obtain their license number.

2. Generate Label:Create the label using the format `Complies with IMDA Standards [Code]`.

3. Placement:Apply the label on the product, packaging, or user manual, ensuring dimensions are exactly 17mm × 9mm.

4. Review:Include the label design in certification application documents.

 

> Note:The label does not require any graphic symbol; the focus is on the accuracy of the text statement and the agent’s code.
