The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is a U.S. government agency responsible for inspecting product quality and safety, and protecting American consumers from hazards. Pursuant to the Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA) enacted in 1972, the CPSC oversees the safety of more than 15,000 types of consumer products used in households, sports, recreation, and schools.

Recently, the CPSC issued two recall announcements involving toys manufactured by enterprises in Dongguan, China.

Recall Case Details

1. Coluans Christmas Light-Up Rings (Recall ID: 26-369)

Produced by a Dongguan-based enterprise, these LED light-up rings fail to comply with mandatory Toy Safety Standards.
Due to improper design of the battery compartment, children can easily access the pre-installed button batteries, posing a
ingestion hazard.

If swallowed, button batteries can cause severe chemical burns, internal organ damage, or even death.
A total of approximately
3,540 units are involved.

CPSC Recommendation:
Consumers should immediately stop using the product, remove the batteries and dispose of them properly as hazardous waste. A full refund is available upon submission of a photo showing the discarded product.

2. Beestech Children’s Spiral Tower Toy (Recall ID: 26-365)

Sold by a Dongguan trading company, this toy violates mandatory toy standards.
It contains small parts and is intended for children under 3 years old, presenting a
fatal choking hazard.

A total of approximately 200 units are involved.

CPSC Recommendation:
Consumers should immediately keep the toy away from children, contact the company for a full refund, mark the toy “recalled” and submit a photo before disposing of the product.
