What is Mexico NOM certification?

The NOM (Normas Oficiales Mexicanas) mark is a mandatory safety mark in Mexico, which indicates that the product complies with the relevant NOM standards. Products subject to NOM compULsory certification include telecommunications and information technology equipment, household electrical appliances, lamps and other products that are potentially hazardous to health and safety. Whether products are manufactuRED locally in Mexico or imported, they must comply with relevant NOM standards and product labeling regulations. ifetel Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute, which replaced the original COFETEL Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Commission in September 2013, is responsible for the testing and type approval process of all access to Mexico's public telecommunications networks and radio equipment (including most digital products).
