With the integration of technologies and the prevalence of cross-border applications, it has become increasingly difficULt to clearly categorize many devices as either audio-visual (AV) products or information technology equipment (ITE). The new standard, which covers information technology equipment, audio-visual equipment, broadcast receiving equipment, entertainment lighting control equipment, and combinations of the aforementioned devices, will effectively ensure consistency in the emission test and evaluation of such products.
From now on, if you intend to sell multi-functional information technology or multimedia products in Europe, there is no longer a need to use the four standards (EN55022, EN55013, EN55103, and EN55024). The new unified emission and immunity standard EN55032 has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ), and the EMC Directive (EC) has long incorporated this new standard.
EN55032 replaces EN55022 (for IT equipment), EN55013 (for broadcast receivers and related equipment), and EN55103 (for audio recording equipment). Approved in December 2012, EN55032 incorporates the content of CISPR 32 + A1 + A2. Currently, it has been officially included in the OJ, meaning manufacturers can already adopt it. However, the old standards still have a transition period until March 2017. Except that the measurement of disturbance power is no longer permitted, all other limits and measurement procedures remain essentially unchanged.

EN55035 will replace EN55024 (for IT equipment), EN55020 (for broadcast receivers), and EN55103 (for audio recording equipment). As of now, EN55035 has not been added to the OJ and is not yet available for manufacturers' use. Nevertheless, it is expected to take effect next year, with the transition period for the old standards also lasting until 2017. Additionally, we anticipate that multiple measurements for multi-functional devices will no longer be mandatory under EN55035.
