What is FCC Certification?

FCC stands for Federal Communications Commission, the regULatory body in the United States responsible for managing the importation and use of radio frequency devices. These devices include computers, fax machines, electronic devices, radio receivers and transmitters, radio-controlled toys, telephones, personal computers, and other products that may pose a risk to personal safety.

Which Products Require FCC Certification?

FCC certification is mandatory for electronic products entering the US market, covering all 50 states, Columbia, and US territories. In other words, to export any of the aforementioned electronic products to the US, they must undergo testing and approval by government-authorized laboratories according to FCC technical standards, known as FCC certification.

Product categories requiring FCC certification include:

1. Power Certification: Communication power supplies, switching power supplies, chargers, display power supplies, LED power supplies, LCD power supplies, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), etc.


2. Lighting Certification: Chandeliers, track lights, courtyard lights, flashlights, spotlights, LED street lights, light strings, desk lamps, LED spotlights, LED bulbs, grid lights, aquarium lights, street lights, LED tubes, LED luminaires, energy-saving lamps, T8 tubes, etc.


3. Home ApplianCE certification: Fans, electric kettles, speakers, televisions, MICe, vacuum cleaners, etc.


4. Electronic certification: Headphones, routers, mobile phone batteries, laser pointers, vibrators, etc.


5. Communication Product Certification: Telephones, wiRED and wireless telephone handsets, fax machines, answering machines, modems, data interface cards, and other communication products.


6. Wireless Product Certification: Bluetooth products, tablet computers, wireless keyboards, wireless mice, wireless readers, wireless transceivers, walkie-talkies, wireless microphones, remote controls, wireless network devices, wireless video transmission systems, and other low-power wireless products.


7. Wireless Communication Product Certification: 2G phones, 3G phones, 4G phones, DECT phones (1.8G, 1.9G frequency), walkie-talkies, etc.


8. Mechanical Certification: Gasoline engines, welding machines, CNC drilling machines, tool grinders, lawnmowers, washing equipment, bulldozers, elevators, punching machines, dishwashers, water treatment equipment, gasoline welding machines, printing machinery, woodworking machinery, rotary drilling rigs, lawn mowers, snow blowers, excavators, printing presses, printers, cutters, road rollers, pavers, mowers, hair straighteners, food machinery, lawn mowers, etc.
