When listing candles and candleholders on Amazon, sellers must comply with all applicable laws, regULations, standards, and Amazon’s policies regarding the publication of product information.

 

Candles and Candleholders CoveRED by This Policy:

Candle:

A candle is a wick that can be lit, typically embedded in wax or another flammable solid (such as tallow). It provides light when burned and may emit fragrance.

 

Candleholder:

A candleholder is a device used to hold a candle, typically using a cup or pin to secure the candle in place.

 

Amazon Canada’s Candle and Candleholder Policy

Amazon requires that all candles and candleholders undergo testing and comply with the following regulations, standards, and requirements:

 

For Candles:

- SOR/2016-165 (Candle Regulations)

- ASTM F2417-17 (Candle Fire Safety Standard)

- ASTM F2058-07 (2021) (Candle Fire Safety Label Standard)

 

For Candleholders:

- ASTM F2601-18 (Candle Accessory Fire Safety Standard)

 

Additionally, all candles and candleholders must include bilingual safety warnings and instructions in both English and French.

 

The Product Detail Page Must Include the Following Information:

- Model, part number, or product number

- Manufacturer or brand name

 

Sellers Must Submit the Following Information:

Documents:

- A test report issued by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory (e.g., JJR Laboratory), demonstrating that the product complies with the above regulations, standards, and requirements.

 

Images:

- Model, part number, or product number

- Manufacturer or brand name

- Product label

- Compliance mark

- Hazard warning

 

Note: All documents, test reports, or certificates submitted to Amazon must be authentic and in their original, unaltered format.

 

Image Submission Guidelines:

When submitting images or documents that include images, ensure the following:

- The images are clear and easy to identify.

- The images demonstrate that the product is the same as the tested item and the one listed on the product detail page.

- The product manuals, handbooks, safety information, labels, and warnings must be in the language(s) of the target selling country or region.

- If the product is a set or bundle, provide images of each item included.

- If possible, provide images of all sides of the product or its packaging to ensure compliance and avoid delays in the approval process.

 

Submitting Information:

To submit documents or appeal compliance requirements, refer to the "Submit Compliance Documents or Appeal Document Requirements" section.

 

Policy Violations:

If a seller fails to provide the required information as outlined above, Amazon reserves the right to take further action under the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement, including but not limited to removing the relevant product information.
