Update time : 2024-10-14

Recently, Amazon has updated its compliance requirements for the categories of [wireless headphones] and [AC adapters/AC power adapters] sold on the Japan platform. We recommend you take immediate action and upload the relevant compliance information to Amazon Seller Central based on the product category you are selling. Products that fail to submit compliance documents will begin to be delisted from the platform starting from September 26, 2024!

Wireless Headphones

Wireless headphones transmit sound via radio waves and include over-ear headphones and headsets. The term “wireless” primarily refers to devices that use Bluetooth technology instead of wired connections. However, this update also applies to other types of devices using radio frequency communication methods besides Bluetooth technology.

PSE - Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law

The Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law (PSE) is a Japanese law aimed at regulating the manufacturing and sale of electrical products to prevent accidents such as fires, electric shocks, or injuries caused by electrical products. Based on factors like product hazard levels and usage scenarios, Japan classifies regulated electrical products into "Specified Electrical Appliances" and "Non-specified Electrical Appliances."

PSE certification is a mandatory safety certification in Japan for electrical products, proving that the electronic and electrical products have passed safety standard tests under Japan's Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law or international IEC standards. It is a crucial gateway for electrical products to enter the Japanese market. Companies must ensure their products meet the relevant requirements and obtain certification to legally sell in Japan.
