Update time : 2024-10-14

With the implementation of the EU General Product Safety Regulation (gpsr) approaching, major cross-border e-commerce platforms are enforcing compliance. Platforms such as AliExpress, Alibaba International, and TEMU have issued GPSR compliance guidelines, and Amazon's GPSR compliance features are now fully operational!

Recently, Amazon added a new GPSR compliance upload window for Europe, reminding brand sellers to promptly upload EU Responsible Person and manufacturer information to the Amazon platform. By using the new "Regulatory Compliance" window to upload the required GPSR information, sellers can more efficiently meet compliance requirements.

New "Regulatory Compliance" Window Features

- Available to all sellers: both brand and non-brand sellers

- All non-compliant ASINs will be displayed and available for upload: for both CE and non-CE categories

- All GPSR-required information can be uploaded:

1. EU Responsible Person

2. Manufacturer

3. Product safety images/documents

How Should Sellers Complete Compliance?

1. Self-check all products sold in the EU and Northern Ireland, ensuring they meet current labeling and traceability requirements.

2. Product labeling requirements:

① Contact details of the EU Responsible Person (postal address and email URL)

② Warning and safety information (in the language of the sales region)

③ Label with product type, batch or serial number, or other identifying elements

④ Manufacturer's and importer's postal address and email URL, along with the postal address or email URL of a point of contact (if different from the above addresses)

3. Register a qualified EU/UK Representative and assign an EU Responsible Person for your products.

 Eligible EU Responsible Persons:

① Manufacturers registered in the EU

② Importers registered in the EU

③ Authorized representatives registered in the EU, appointed in writing by the manufacturer or brand

④ Distribution service providers registered in the EU, responsible for distributing the products

4. Label the products with compliant packaging labels:

① Information must be complete and clear, with EC/REP on the left and EU/UK Responsible Person information on the right

② Print the EU Representative's address and contact details on the product, instructions, or packaging whenever possible

③ For small products, the information can be printed on instructions or packaging

④ Ensure stickers remain clear and intact despite wear, temperature, or humidity changes

5. Timely upload the required information to Amazon's compliance system using the new "Regulatory Compliance" window.

FAQs

- Q: Does completing the information for ASINs in the "Regulatory Compliance" window mean GPSR compliance is done?

A: No. Amazon will gradually display non-compliant ASINs in the "Regulatory Compliance" window, but sellers must ensure all ASINs comply with GPSR requirements.

- Q: Do I need to upload compliance information for each European site I sell on?

A: Yes. Sellers need to upload Responsible Person information for each site. Brand owners only need to upload once based on brand.

- Q: If the EU Responsible Person information changes, do I need to update product labels and safety images?

A: Yes. You need to update this information on both the platform and product labels.

- Q: If I already uploaded some information, do I need to re-upload everything with the new "Regulatory Compliance" window?

A: No. If the ASINs are already compliant, they won’t appear in the new window, and no re-upload is necessary.

- Q: Can I wait until the end of the year to handle GPSR compliance?

A: No. Sellers generally need 4-6 months to complete compliance steps. Non-compliant products may be removed after December 13.
