A nightlight is a small, low-power light source used to provide comfort or convenience in dimly lit indoor areas at night.

Amazon requires all nightlights to be tested and comply with the following regulations, standards, and requirements:

- UL1876:2021 STANDARD FOR SAFETY Direct Plug-In Nightlights

- CSA C22.2 NO. 256:14 (R2019)

The seller's detail page must include the following information: model, part number or item number, manufacturer or private label owner (distributor) name, and a test report issued by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory demonstrating compliance with UL1876 or CSA C22.2 NO. 256:14 (R2019) regulations and standards. This policy applies to direct plug-in nightlights for indoor use in non-hazardous locations, with input power not exceeding 10 watts. To apply for a UL or CSA test report, the laboratory needs to be provided with samples, product manuals, labels, and warnings.

UL1876 & CSA C22.2 NO. 256:14 test items include:

- Input/output tests

- Leakage current from enclosure measurement

- Risk of electric shock

- Normal & abnormal temperature tests

- Fault condition tests—Electronic ballasts (Class P)

- Dielectric voltage withstand test

- Drop test

- Impact test

- Strain relief test

- Mold stress test

- Humidity test

- Water-spray test

The UL1876:2021 standard applies to direct plug-in nightlights with an input of no more than 10W, intended for indoor use in non-hazardous locations. The light sources include incandescent lamps, candelabra-based lamps, non-replaceable lamps, [fluorescent lamps, neon lamps, or light-emitting diode (LED) types], or electroluminescent panels, or various light source technologies. These requirements include the plug for direct plug-in nightlights, which is to be inserted into parallel slot outlets rated up to 125V.

Amazon UL test report process:

1. Fill out the application form

2. Provide product information

3. Send samples

4. Test OK

5. Issue UL report/certification (time: 7-10 working days)

China's JJR is an IEC 17025 accredited laboratory authorized to issue ISO 17025 laboratory test reports recognized by Amazon. They have handled similar products for many Amazon sellers and provided the corresponding UL test reports, enabling successful product listings and sales.
