Recently, Amazon has issued new regULations for toy and other product categories sold on its US, Canadian, and European marketplaces:

Toy products must undergo Direct Validation by an Amazon-recognized Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) body, with compliant test reports and relevant certificates uploaded by the TIC body. The traditional model where sellers upload compliance reports independently will no longer be applicable.

What is DV Validation?

Direct Validation (DV) is Amazon's initiative to provide selling partners with a seamless and efficient process, ensuring their products meet all necessary product standards while minimizing friction through the following program:

For certain product categories, Amazon requires that proof of compliance must be provided directly by a technical Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) body mandated by the validation policy—this is referRED to as Direct Validation.

DV Validation Process

①　After a seller lists a product on the platform and receives an Amazon notification requiring DV Validation, they may submit a review request via the seller backend path: Performance > Account Health > Policy Compliance > Validate Your Products;

②　Upon receiving the request, a TIC body (e.g., JJR LAB Testing) will contact the seller to arrange testing or validation of their existing test reports;

③　Upon completion of testing/validation, the TIC body will submit the results directly to Amazon—sellers are not permitted to upload documents independently;

④　Once validation is finalized, the product may be listed and sold on the platform;

⑤　All testing/validation fees shall be borne by the seller.

(Please note that many laboratories currently conduct TIC Validation reviews only based on test reports issued by their own laboratories.)

Consequences of Failing to Complete DV Validation in a Timely Manner or Failing DV Validation

If you fail to initiate or complete testing/validation, or if test results indicate your product does not comply with Amazon policies, the product listing may be removed and subject to suspension risks.
