Electric Hammer CE Certification Testing

Views :
Update time : 2025-11-12

The electric hammer is a widely used power tool. It is an electric drill with an added piston driven by an electric motor via a crankshaft and connecting rod. This piston reciprocates inside a cylinder, compressing air, causing periodic changes in the air pressure. The fluctuating air pressure drives a hammer in the cylinder to strike the top of the drill bit, similar to using a hammer to strike the bit.

Electric hammers exported to Europe are ce certified products, and they comply with the following CE directives and standards:

Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

EN ISO 12100, Safety of machinery — General principles for design — Risk assessment and risk REDuction

*EN 62841-1, Electric motor-operated hand-held tools, transportable tools, and lawn and garden machinery. Safety — General requirements

*EN 62841-2-6, Electric motor-operated hand-held tools, transportable tools, and lawn and garden machinery. Safety — ParticULar requirements for hand-held hammers

(Note: EN 62841 standard applies to hand-held motor-driven tools or electric tools driven by magnetic force. The rated voltage for single-phase AC or DC tools should not exceed 250V, and for three-phase AC tools, it should not exceed 440V.)

The process for applying CE certification for electric hammers is as follows:

1. The manufacturer or its agent submits the application;

2. The laboratory determines the testing standards, items, and provides a quote;

3. The applicant confirms the quote and signs the contract;

4. Payment for the testing fee is made and samples are sent;

5. China JJR Laboratory conducts product testing and reviews technical documentation;

6. The review of technical documentation includes:

 a. Whether the documents are complete;

 b. Whether the documents are written in the official EU languages (English, German, or French);

 c. If the technical documentation is incomplete or not in the required language, the applicant will be notified to make improvements;

7. If the tests fail, the applicant will be notified promptly and allowed to improve the product until the tests are passed. The applicant must update the technical documentation to reflect the changes made;

8. The certification body provides the applicant with the CE compliance certificate and instructions for using the ce mark. The applicant can verify the certificate's registration on the EU official website, and upon confirmation, pay 50% of the certification fee balance;

9. The applicant affixes the CE mark on the product.
