The EN 12221 domestic baby changing unit test includes the following aspects:

Lead Time:

- Regular service: 7-9 working days


Sample Volume:

- Two complete sets of samples, including installation instructions (if applicable)

- An additional sample is required for toxic element/burning tests


Applicable Products:

- EN 12221-1 specifies safety requirements for domestic changing units designed for children weighing up to 15 kg.

- EN 12221 covers only the changing unit function. If the unit can be converted or used for other functions, it must comply with relevant standards, such as those for cribs or storage furniture.

- Changing units may be foldable and may include a child bathtub or other additional items.

- This standard applies only when the changing pad is part of the changing unit.


- EN 12221-2 specifies the test methods to assess the safety of changing units.

- The effects of material aging and degradation are not included in the test scope.
