Update time : 2025-05-20

The fcc Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (sdoc) requires that a conformity declaration be included in the accompanying documents of the device. The declaration must contain essential information such as the name, address, or contact website of a U.S.-based responsible party.

How can I find the responsible party required for the fcc sdoc declaration in order to ship and sell the product?

The FCC mandates the designation of a responsible party to ensure accountability in case of market surveillance. The requirements for the responsible party are as follows:

1. The responsible party must be a company located in the United States.

2. The responsible party can be the manufacturer, assembler, or importer.

3. The responsible party must be capable of providing the product, test reports, and relevant records upon request during fcc market inspections to ensure compliance with the SDoC procedures.

4. The responsible party must include the conformity declaration in the accompanying documents of the device.

Recommendation:

It is advisable for clients to designate the first U.S. importer or a local U.S.-based agent as the responsible party.

What are the specific content requirements for the FCC SDoC declaration document?

According to FCC Regulation §2.1077, the declaration must include the following information:

1. Product Information: Such as product name, model number, etc.

2. fcc compliance Statement: A warning indicating fcc conformity.

3. U.S. Responsible Party Information: Company name, address, telephone number, or internet contact information.

Note:

The declaration must be included with the product at the time of shipment and sale.

In what form should the FCC SDoC declaration be shipped with the product?

JJR has confirmed with the FCC that there are two acceptable formats for including the declaration:

1. As a Separate Page: A stand-alone declaration sheet shipped with the user manual and included with each individual product (Note: A separate declaration must be included with every product, not just per shipment batch).

2. Integrated in the Manual: The required declaration information may be incorporated directly into the product’s instruction manual.

The JJR Laboratory in China provides FCC SDoC services and can serve as a U.S. authorized representative. Please contact us for more information.
