Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) CE certification

The EMC Directive is a regULation established by the European Union, officially known as the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive, numbeRED 2014/30/EU. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) defines electromagnetic compatibility as the ability of a system or equipment to operate normally in its electromagnetic environment without causing interference to other systems and equipment. This applies to all equipment that may generate electromagnetic interference or whose function may be affected by electromagnetic interference.

How long is the validity period of CE certification?

1. CE certification certificates generally have a validity period of 5 years. However, if the applicable standards or directives are revised, upgraded, or updated, the product may need to be reassessed, and additional differential tests may be required, necessitating a reapplication for CE certification.

2. If the certificate REACHes its 5-year validity period, and the manufacturer, supplier, production process, etc., of the enterprise’s product have not changed, and the customers of the enterprise also recognize it, the ce certificate can continue to be used.
