- MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), also known as SDS (Safety Data Sheet) in European countries, provides important cheMICal safety information.
- It includes 16 sections covering physical data, toxicity, health effects, first aid, reactivity, storage, disposal, protective equipment, and spill-handling measures.
- Countries such as the United States, Japan, and those in the European Union have already established MSDS systems. Similarly, in China, MSDS provides essential chemical information for supply chain chemical management.
- An MSDS report must be prepaRED according to the laws and requirements of the importing country. Different countries may have different MSDS requirements.
- As scientific knowledge of chemicals evolves, the regULations and formats for Msds reports may change accordingly.
- If exporters or importers provide incorrect or incomplete MSDS information, chemical trade may be disrupted, and they may even face legal liability in the importing country.
If your product requires msds certification but you are unfamiliar with testing requirements, or you want to learn more about MSDS certification, or if you have not yet obtained a test report, please contact us. JJR LAB will fully assist you.
According to international standards, an MSDS should include:
1. Identification of the substance/preparation and of the company/undertaking
2. Composition/information on ingredients (Risk Phrase)
3. Hazards identification
4. First-aid measures
5. Fire-fighting measures
6. Accidental release measures
7. Handling and storage
8. Exposure controls/personal protection
9. Physical and chemical properties (~14 items)
10. Stability and reactivity
11. Ecological information
12. Disposal considerations
13. Transport information
14. Regulatory information (Risk phrase, Safety phrase)
15. Other information
16. Toxicological information
An MSDS report is essentially a chemical safety data sheet. As long as the client provides basic product information, we can prepare the report quickly.
- Standard products: approx. USD 600
- Hazardous products (e.g., batteries): approx. USD 640
Some factories attempt to write their own MSDS or copy others found online. These often contain incomplete or incorrect information and fail customs inspections, leading to shipment delays or legal risks.
For accuracy and compliance, it is strongly recommended to engage a professional third-party agency. This ensures reliability and saves time and effort.
Usually, only a simple application form is needed, including:
- Company information
- Product information
- Product composition table
Based on this, accredited laboratories will compile an MSDS in compliance with regulations.
- Standard turnaround: 3 working days
- Expedited service available
24-hour online customer service at any time to respond, so that you worry!
