The types of products regULated include:
- Broadcasting and television equipment
- Information technology equipment
- Radio communication equipment
- Telecommunication equipment
- Industrial, scientific, and medical devices

Currently, IC certification only enforces mandatory requirements for electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Therefore, obtaining IC certification is essentially the entry passfor electronic and electrical products to be legally sold in Canada.
- IC Certification Fee:Around USD 900, processing time 7–10 working days
- Example: Bluetooth speaker (dual-mode) — USD 1,820 per model
- Additional model — +USD 200 each
- Requires Canadian representative information — USD 250 per ID per year
- Processing time — approximately 4 weeks
IC certification standards are largely consistent with fcc standards, focusing mainly on electromagnetic interference control.
- ICES-001— Analog equipment: industrial, scientific, and medical RF devices
- ICES-003— Digital terminal equipment: IT devices and computer peripherals
- ICRS Series— Low-power radio frequency transmitters and receivers, such as wireless MICe, keyboards, remote-control toys, and other low-power RF products
- CS03— Telecommunication terminal equipment, such as PSTN devices
- Lighting products
- Information technology and peripheral devices
- Audio and video equipment
- Mechanical products
- Electrical equipment
- Telecommunication devices
- Industrial, scientific, and medical equipment
