On Amazon, it is prohibited to sell products that exceed the restricted levels specified in Annex XVII of the reach regulation. For certain products, Amazon requires manufacturers to provide proof that their products comply with REACH restrictions on cadmium, nickel, and lead content, either through a REACH declaration or a test report.

Applicable Products

1. Jewelry and imitation jewelry worn on the wrists and ankles, such as bracelets and anklets.

2. Jewelry and imitation jewelry worn on the neck, such as necklaces.

3. Jewelry and imitation jewelry that pierce the skin, such as earrings and body piercing products.

4. Jewelry and imitation jewelry worn on fingers and toes, such as rings and toe rings.

 

Amazon's jewelry reach testing standards are mainly based on Annex XVII of the eu reach regulation, setting limits on harmful substances such as cadmium, nickel, and lead in metals, plastics, and other materials.

 

Specific Requirements

1. Main Testing Items and Standards

(1) Cadmium Limit

- Applicable materials: Metal, plastic, coatings, etc.

- Limit: ≤0.01% by weight

- Test standards: EN1122, EPA3050B, EPA3052

 

(2) Nickel Limit

- Applicable materials: Metal

- Limit: Migration ≤0.2 µg/cm² per week

- Test standards: EN1811, EN12472

 

(3) Lead Limit

- Applicable materials: All materials (including metal, plastic, etc.)

- Limit: ≤0.05% by weight

- Test standards: EPA3050B, EPA3052

 

2. Documentation Requirements

- Required documents: reach compliance declaration or heavy metal test report.

- The documents must include product identification information (such as ASIN, FNSKU, MSKU) and clear product images.

 

3. Scope of Application

- Product types: Adult and children's jewelry, including bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings, and other items that come into direct contact with the skin.

 

4. Notes

- If the product contains svhcs (Substances of Very High Concern), disclosure is required for contents exceeding 0.1%.
