The blade deck is mounted on wheels, with an engine installed on the deck. A blade is attached to the engine's output shaft. Through the engine’s high-speed rotation, the cutting speed is significantly increased, which saves operators time and reduces labor demands.

Scope of EN 745:1999+A1:2009

This standard specifies specific safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of rotary mowers and flail mowers with one or more vertical axes or a horizontal axis, whether mounted, semi-mounted, trailed, or self-propelled. The standard also applies to mowers equipped with a conditioning device and is intended only for mowers designed to operate at ground level.
