NOM Certification

NOM certification is Mexico's official certification system designed to ensure that products meet the country's safety, health, and environmental protection standards. For lighting products, NOM certification not only enhances consumer trust but also enables the legal sale of products in the Mexican market.

NOM Certification Standards

Safety Standards:

- NOM-030-SCFI-2014

Energy Efficiency Standards:

- NOM-017-ENER/SCFI

- NOM-028-ENER

- NOM-030-ENER

- NOM-031-ENER

NOM Certification Process

1. Sample Submission: Send lighting product samples to a testing facility in Mexico for evaluation.

2. Test Report and Certification: After testing, the facility will issue a relevant test report and grant the NOM certification.

3. Sample Quantity: Typically, two samples of each model are requiRED for testing.

By completing this process, the product gains access to the Mexican market, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.

Key Considerations

1. Certificate Holder Requirements: The holder of the NOM certification must be a local Mexican company. It is recommended that the actual importer serves as the certificate holder to simplify the process.

2. Series Models: While series models can be included in a single certification, adding more models incurs additional costs. Therefore, the selection of series models should be evaluated based on actual needs.

China’s JJR Laboratory offers one-stop NOM certification services, helping you navigate the certification process and ensuring that your lighting products successfully enter the Mexican market.
