The Southeast Asian market continues to boom. With its superior geographical location and strong consumer demand, Thailand has become a core overseas destination for wireless communication and smart hardware enterprises from China, Europe, America, Japan and South Korea. However, many manufacturers face severe losses after stocking goods for export. Without completing the mandatory nbtc certification, their products may be detained by customs, fined, or even banned from local sales, resulting in total losses of early investment.
NBTC stands for the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission of Thailand. It is the regulatory authority in charge of telecommunication products and telecommunication networks in Thailand, with functions equivalent to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and the power of administrative penalty.

Since July 1, 2008, Thailand has expanded its mandatory certification regulations, which originally only applied to mobile communication products, to all wireless-related products.
In short:
All wireless and telecommunication products exported to Thailand must obtain NBTC certification in advance for legal local sales and smooth customs clearance. It is a mandatory market access threshold for Thailand with no exceptions.
Based on product types, the NBTC has defined three certification modes:
• Class A – Registration
Applicable to RFID devices, cordless phones, ultra-wideband products, automotive radar products
• Class B – Approval Certification
Applicable to 2G/3G/4G/5G communication products, mobile phones, tablets and other terminal devices with cellular communication functions
• sdoc – Supplier's Declaration of Conformity
Applicable to short-range SRD products, WiFi and Bluetooth products, including consumer electronics such as Bluetooth speakers, wireless earphones and wireless cameras
Preparing complete documents in advance can greatly shorten the certification cycle and avoid repeated supplementary materials:
1. Application form
2. Product specification sheet (including corresponding operating frequency bands)
3. Product photos (including internal and external structural drawings)
4. RF radio frequency test report (module reports are acceptable)
5. emc test report (complete product emc report is required)
6. Safety regulation report (complete product safety report is required)
7. ISO 17025 certificate of the testing laboratory
Enterprises can also apply for NBTC certification with CE reports plus Thailand deviation tests to further simplify the application process.
1. Provide product technical datasheet and user manual
2. The customer fills in the test application form and submits product documents
3. Confirm test standards and arrange pre-compliance testing
4. Conduct product rectification and official testing
5. Complete testing and issue draft test reports
6. Customer confirms report information → Issue officially stamped reports
The certification lead time varies by certification mode:
• SDOC (Supplier's Declaration of Conformity): 1–2 weeks
• Class A Registration: 3–4 weeks
• Class B Approval Certification: 3–4 weeks
NBTC Certificate Validity: Permanent, no expiration date
