What is telec certification?

TELEC certification is a requirement for wireless products to be legally sold and used in Japan, similar to other countries' regULations such as srrc certification in China, fcc-ID in the United States, and kcc certification in South Korea.

 

What documents are requiRED for TELEC certification?

l Application form

l Three prototypes (two regular prototypes, one fixed-frequency)

l Product manual

l Bill of Materials (BOM)

l Circuit schematic

l PCB layout

l Block diagram

l Schematic description

l Fixed frequency software + operating instructions

l Antenna gain (for products with antennas like WIFI, BT, 2G, 3G)

TELEC certification process:

1. Prepare application materials, including product technical specifications, user manuals, antenna drawings, etc.

2. Test your product and collect test reports.

3. Submit all documents to TELEC for review.

4. If approved, TELEC will issue a certificate allowing your product to be sold and used in Japan.

 

TELEC certification considerations:

· Ensure your product complies with Japanese radio regulations, or else certification will not be granted.

· Major modifications or updates to your product will require re-certification.

· Products that fail certification cannot be sold or used in Japan.
