What Certifications Are Needed for Amazon Power Banks?

There are many power bank brands on the market, varying in capacity, design, and quality. However, substandard power banks can easily cause fire hazards, threatening public safety and property. Therefore, Amazon enforces strict requirements for power bank sales. This article explains Amazon’s certification standards for selling power banks.

 

What Certifications Are Needed for Amazon Power Banks?(图1)


1. Australia Certification Standards

A report from a recognized testing laboratory or organization is required to confirm that the product complies with and has passed one of the following standards:

 

iec 62368-1:2018

ul 2056

AS/NZS 62368.1:2018

 

2. Canada Certification Standards

A test report from an ILAC ISO 17025 accredited laboratoryis required to confirm that each product has been tested and complies with UL 2056.

 

Alternative option:

If testing was not conducted according to UL 2056, the internal battery and the power bank can be tested separately as follows:

 

Internal battery must comply with oneof the following:

ul 2054

iec 62133-2

UL/CSA 62133

 

Power bank must comply with oneof the following:

iec 60950-1

UL/CSA 60950-1

IEC 62368-1

UL/CSA 62368-1

 

3. Europe Certification Standards

A certificate or test report from a recognized laboratory is required to confirm that your product has been tested in accordance with:

 

Battery Directive + EN (IEC) 62133or UL 2056

 

4. India Certification Standards

A test report and BIS certificateissued by a BIS-accredited laboratoryare required to confirm compliance with:

 

IS 13252

 

5. Japan Certification Standards

Testing Standard:JIS C62133-2

 

Additional requirements include:

1. A copy of the “Notification of Electrical Appliance Manufacturing Business” (must bear the official stamp of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and include a product classification table), OR registration of the manufacturing/importing business on the Ministry’s Safety Portal (must include the classification table).

2. Label images clearly showing the PSE logo, Japanese agent name, rated voltage, etc.

3. If the Japanese agent name listed in the business notification does not match the label, official approval from the Ministry is required.

4. Voluntary inspection records for all finished products.

 

6. Singapore Certification Standards

A test report from a recognized laboratory is required to confirm compliance with:

 

IEC 62133and IEC 60950-1:2005 + A1:2009 + A2:2013,

or IEC 62368-1:2018,

or UL 2056

 

7. United States Certification Standards

A test report from an ILAC ISO 17025 accredited laboratoryis required to confirm that each product has been tested and complies with UL 2056.

Required Documentation for Selling Power Banks on Amazon

To prepare for Amazon’s compliance requirements, sellers typically need to provide the following documents and information:

 

1. Power bank specification sheet(including PCB schematic, PCB layout, and dimension drawings)

2. Business license and ISO certificate

3. Component datasheets(e.g., MOSFETs, ICs)

4. Product label

5. Confirmation of whether the power bank supports simultaneous charging and discharging, and in what manner

6. Complete basic product information
