The iec 60945 standard specifies the general requirements, testing methods, and performance criteria for maritime navigation and radiocommunication equipment and systems. IEC 60945 covers ship electrical systems, observation and communication equipment, integrated navigation systems, navigation equipment, and maritime communication devices.
- The testing environment shoULd have a temperature range of +15°C to +35°C and a relative humidity range of 20% to 75%.
- If testing cannot be performed under these conditions, the test report must include notes describing the actual environmental conditions prevalent during the tests.
- The nominal test power supply voltage should be maintained within a ±3% tolerance, relative to the nominal voltage of one or more ship power sources for which the equipment is designed.
- For AC power supplies, the test frequency should be within a range of ±1 Hz of the nominal frequency.
