UL 2743 Standard Specifies:

"Any portable power bank with a car jump-start function cannot be considered for indoor use only!" This means it must account for temporary outdoor scenarios — such as sudden heavy rain!

 

Chapter 60 of UL 2743 – "Rain Test" Requirements:

Products must endure a continuous 1-hour "torrential rain" exposure under a dedicated rain test apparatus!

 

Key Bottom Line:

Water accumulation inside the enclosure must never reach any hazardous live components! Otherwise, a more complex leakage current test is required to prove safety, greatly increasing certification difficulty and failure risk!

 

Imagine This:

After passing all other tests, your product fails because of a "simulated downpour"? The product may be deemed unsuitable for outdoor use due to insufficient waterproofing, resulting in certification failure, rejected orders, or even recall risk… The cost is enormous!
