JJR LAB is a third-party chemical testing agency in China, providing a one-stop solution for California 65 testing. With an experienced engineering/business team and over twelve years of testing experience, it provides comprehensive testing and certification needs.
California 65, English name: Proposition 65, abbreviated as CA65. Chinese name: Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, which came into effect in November 1986. According to the requirements of Proposition 65, the California government updates the list of hazardous substances at least once a year. Currently, nearly a thousand chemicals have been listed. As the international situation becomes increasingly tense, meeting the regulatory requirements of California 65 can prevent products from facing relevant lawsuits after being launched in the US market, helping the products win the US market.
It is not allowed to discharge the hazardous substances listed in the proposition into drinking water.
Provide a clear and reasonable warning (for the listed substances, a warning must be provided unless the exposure level is exceptionally low and poses no risk).
Jewelry, clothing, bags and luggage, sports mats, toys and childcare articles, ceramic and glass products, bicycles and accessories, electrical devices, wires and cables, fabrics, general merchandise, food contact products, electronic products, etc.
The California 65 regulation control list itself does not set limits for substances. The control limits for hazardous substances in products refer to US federal courts and various lawsuits or agreements. In these documents, limit requirements and testing methods for certain substances in certain types of products may be reached. The high-risk substances involved in past cases include lead, cadmium, phthalates, BISphenol A (BPA), and other substances.
In 2021, the California 65 list of hazardous substances was updated twice. The 8 newly added substances updated last year are bound to become the focus of law enforcement. These 8 substances involve a wide range of products, thus having a significant impact on related products exported to the United States. The details of the substances are as follows:
