CB Certification Certificate and Report

Update time : 2024-07-30

When electronic and electrical products enter various national markets, they must meet different regulatory requirements, which can be quite a headache due to the complexity of international certifications. However, there is a "universal certification" that can eliminate trade barriers—the IECEE cb certification. This article will introduce relevant knowledge about CB certification.

What is an IECEE cb certificate?

The IECEE CB certificate is based on the mutual recognition system of testing certificates for electrical products and components. It is issued by National Certification Bodies (NCBs) that are members of the IECEE CB system.

Member National Certification Bodies (NCBs)

By adopting the same testing certification standards, member NCBs reduce technical trade barriers caused by different standards in different countries/regions. This enables "one product, one test, multiple certifications," eliminating multiple testing costs and promoting international trade.

Member Countries of the IECEE CB System

Member countries, institutions, and their respective NCBs within the IECEE CB system agree to obtain certifications or recognitions based on the principle of mutual recognition of test results.

Currently, there are 54 member countries, including major global economies (such as China, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil, Mexico, UAE, and Saudi Arabia), with a total of 92 NCBs.

What is the IECEE CB Certification Model?

The most widely used certification model in the IECEE CB system is the type test model. This means that products are tested according to IEC international standards, with additional testing for national differences claimed by the destination country (national differences refer to the differences between the destination country's standards and the IEC international standards).

What is the Scope of IECEE CB Certification?

The IECEE CB system currently covers 22 categories of electrical equipment and components/testing, including safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and energy efficiency (E3) requirements.

What are the Advantages of IECEE CB Certification?

1. Conversion to Foreign Certification Certificates: If you have obtained a cb test certificate and cb test report, you can directly apply for other countries' certification certificates. The certification bodies in the applicant country review the cb test certificate and report (including reports on national differences). If the review results are satisfactory, certification is granted without additional testing according to the applicant country's regulations and procedures.

2. Conversion to Chinese National Certification Certificates: Based on the CB test report and supplementary national difference tests, a Chinese national product certification report can be issued, obtaining mandatory or other voluntary certification certificates for electrical products in China.

3. Direct Recognition or Approval by Other Countries: With the CB test certificate and CB test report, products can be directly exported to certain countries.

4. Cost and Time Savings: Domestic enterprises applying for foreign certification can save significantly on costs and turnaround time by obtaining a CB test certificate domestically, as the tests are conducted in local CB testing laboratories.

5. Increased Confidence in Passing Product Tests: If a company has already obtained a CB test certificate, all or most of the CB test results can be recognized when applying for other countries' certifications. This can save time and costs by reducing or eliminating re-testing, and it also increases the confidence in passing national difference tests.

International Certificates that Can Be Obtained Based on the IECEE CB Certificate

In principle, certifications implemented by member countries and certification bodies participating in the IECEE CB system can be applied for based on the CB certificate and report, with the addition of national differences as needed to minimize repeat testing. These certifications include:

1. China CCC Certification Certificate

2. Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Mark Certification Certificate (Low Voltage Electrical Equipment)

3. South Korea KC Certification Certificate (for electrical products without wireless functions, KC safety or emc certification can be applied for through the CB-MOU model, exempting sample submission to Korea)

4. Saudi Arabia IECEE Recognition Certificate

5. Saudi Arabia Certificate of Conformity (Saber CoC)

6. Australia RCM Mark Certification Certificate

7. Singapore Safety Mark Certification Certificate

8. Malaysia COA Safety Certification Certificate

9. Brazil INMETRO Certification Certificate

10. Mexico NOM Certification Certificate

11. Uruguay Certificate of Conformity
