Update time : 2024-06-15

cb certification is an IEC system for the testing and certification of electrical products. It is an international system operated by the IEC System for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrical Equipment (IECEE).

CB certification is based on IEC standards and involves the testing of electrical product safety by certification bodies from IECEE member countries. The test resULts, including the cb test report and cb test certificate, are mutually recognized among IECEE member countries. The purpose is to REDuce international trade barriers caused by differing national certification or approval criteria.

CB Certification Costs

1. Certification Application Fee: The fee paid to the certification body, generally around $210, for reviewing and evaluating whether the product meets relevant standards and regulations.

2. Product Testing Fee: This depends on the product type and the number of required test items. For example:

   - The testing fee for electronic and electrical products such as adapters may be around $1120.

   - The fee for power products ranges from $700 to $1120.

3. Factory Audit Fee: The cost for the certification body to audit the production factory, approximately $700, typically involving an on-site audit to ensure the production process meets standards.

4. Certificate Fee: The total cost to obtain the cb certificate is about $1400 to $2800.

Additionally, there may be some extra costs such as:

- Series Fee: Around $1400 to $4200 per series.

- Difference Fee: About $280 to $560 per product.

CB Certification Process

1. Choosing a Certification Body: Before starting the CB certification, a company needs to select an appropriate certification body like Lanya.

2. Submitting the Application: The company must submit a product certification application to the certification body, including relevant product information and documents, such as technical parameters, usage scenarios, samples, etc.

3. Testing and Evaluation: Upon receiving the application, the certification body will test and evaluate the product to ensure its safety and performance meet expectations.

4. Document Review: During the testing process, the certification body will also review the technical documents and test reports related to the product, including design drawings, production process flow, and quality control systems.

5. Factory Inspection (if applicable): In some cases, the certification body may conduct an on-site factory inspection to evaluate the company's production process and quality management system.

6. Issuing the Certificate: After completing the above reviews and tests, the certification body will issue the CB test certificate, indicating that the product has passed the international standard certification.

Importance of CB Certification

1. Improving Product Quality: CB certification requires products to meet a series of strict standards and regulations, including electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility, ensuring that product quality meets international standards and enhancing product reliability.

2. Increasing Product Competitiveness: Products with the CB certification mark have higher competitiveness in the international market because the CB certification mark is an internationally recognized guarantee of quality and safety. Consumers often prefer products with CB certification in their purchasing decisions.

3. Reducing Trade Barriers: CB certification is a globally accepted product safety certification system. Products with CB certification can be sold in multiple countries and regions, avoiding repetitive testing and certification procedures, reducing trade barriers, and facilitating international trade.

Please note that the above costs are for reference only. Specific costs may vary depending on the certification body, product, testing requirements, and other factors. If you need to apply for CB certification, it is recommended to consult with Lanya Certification Body for accurate cost information.
